Roam by Tauck Opens 2027 Bookings and Introduces 7 New Curated Itineraries

Roam by Tauck has unveiled bookings for its 2027 portfolio. The brand completes its Global Collection across six continents with the addition of seven new journeys, purposefully designed for discerning travelers in their 40s and 50s.
Spanning land, river, and small-ship cruising, the expanded collection unveils new itineraries across a diverse range of destinations, including Japan, New Zealand, South Africa, Mozambique, Switzerland, Italy, Sicily, and California.
Intentionally designed for intimate groups of around 16 guests, each journey unlocks exclusive access through Tauck’s global network, seamlessly balancing curated experiences with the freedom to explore. Guests may tailor each day to their preferences: immersing themselves in guided cultural encounters, engaging in active pursuits such as hiking, cycling, or kayaking, indulging in exceptional regional cuisine, or retreating to a renowned spa. A dedicated Roam Director provides personalized insight and discreet support throughout, ensuring a seamless experience while preserving complete independence.
The newly unveiled itineraries are set to debut in 2027:
- Tokyo, Kyoto and the Seto Inland Sea: An immersive 10-day land journey through Japan, where centuries-old traditions meet contemporary life, unfolding from vibrant urban centers to the tranquil landscapes of the inland coast. Signature experiences include a private visit to Kiyomizu-dera with a Buddhist monk, scenic cycling across the islands of the Seto Inland Sea, and an authentic omakase dining experience. Accommodations feature the Four Seasons Tokyo Otemachi, Azumi Setoda, a meticulously restored 140-year-old merchant estate, and the Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto.
- New Zealand: North and South: An immersive 12-day land journey through New Zealand, showcasing its most iconic landscapes—from rugged coastlines to majestic alpine peaks. Signature experiences include a high-adrenaline jet boat ride through the Shotover Canyons with a scenic helicopter return over Queenstown, a cruise through Milford Sound, and an exclusive boutique vineyard experience in Marlborough. Guests will stay at Auckland’s Hotel Britomart, Furneaux Lodge in the Marlborough Sounds, the newly renovated Coronet Ridge Resort, and Huka Lodge in Taupō.
- South Africa and Mozambique: An immersive 10-day land journey spanning Cape Town, its celebrated wine country, a private safari reserve, and the remote beaches of the Indian Ocean. Signature experiences include exploring Cape Town’s vibrant waterfront and the dramatic coastline of Chapman’s Peak, a guided ascent of Lion’s Head for golden-hour views, and exclusive game drives in a private reserve. Accommodations feature One&Only Cape Town, Marataba Safari Lodge in Marakele National Park, and &Beyond Benguerra Island in Mozambique’s Bazaruto Archipelago.
- Bern and the Matterhorn: An immersive seven-day land journey through Switzerland, seamlessly blending heritage, culinary traditions, and alpine adventure—from Bern’s historic streets to the dramatic peaks of Zermatt. Signature experiences include a private, behind-the-scenes visit to the Zytglogge clock tower, an e-bike journey through the Emmental countryside with vineyard and cheesemaking experiences, and an ascent to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. Accommodations feature the historic Bellevue Palace in Bern and BEAUSiTE Zermatt with sweeping views of the Matterhorn.
- Florence and the Tuscan Hills: An immersive seven-day land journey through Italy, celebrating the rhythm of Tuscan life—from Florence’s artistic legacy to the tranquil beauty of its rolling hills and villages. Signature experiences include rare private access to the mosaics of the Baptistery of San Giovanni during restoration, a vintage Fiat 500 drive through the Tuscan countryside, and an authentic truffle-hunting experience. Accommodations feature the W Florence and three nights at Borgo San Felice, a meticulously restored medieval estate nestled among Chianti’s vineyards.
- Rome, Sicily, and Malta: An immersive 12-day small-ship cruise journey combining Italy’s cultural treasures with refined Mediterranean exploration. Signature experiences include exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to a newly uncovered area of Pompeii, a private evening at Palermo’s Palazzo Francavilla, an excursion to Mount Etna, and a curated boat journey through the Aeolian Islands with a stop in Salina. Accommodations begin at the Pantheon Iconic Hotel in Rome, followed by ten nights aboard the Windstar Star Legend, with port calls including Lipari, Palermo, Trapani, Agrigento, Valletta, Siracusa, and Taormina.
- Golden Gate and Wine Country: An immersive six-day land journey through Northern California, beginning in Sausalito and unfolding from the scenic beauty of the Bay to the refined elegance of Napa and Sonoma. Signature experiences include a guided tasting tour through San Francisco’s Ferry Building marketplace, a private Napa wine tasting led by local experts, a bioluminescent kayaking experience on Tomales Bay, and a farewell dinner at Cakebread Cellars in St. Helena. Accommodations feature The Lodge at Cavallo Point and Carneros Resort and Spa in Napa Valley.
