Baccarat Is Bringing a New Luxury Resort to the Maldives

BACCARAT HOTEL & RESIDENCES MALDIVES SET TO OPEN IN 2027

Iconic French luxury brand Baccarat is bringing a new, expansive, ultra-luxury resort to the Maldives, currently scheduled to debut in 2027.

Plans call for the resort to span five interconnected islands across more than 11 acres in South Malé Atoll, an area already known for its many luxury properties, a 30-minute boat ride from Malé’s Velana International Airport.

Outside of 53 residences, the resort will offer 50 hotel villas ranging from one- to three-bedrooms, each with its own private pool, along with private residences overlooking the lagoon or the resort’s beachfront. For a higher class of exclusivity and luxury, the resort will also offer six- and seven-bedroom mansions on a secluded peninsula and eight- and nine-bedroom accommodations on their private islands.

For dining, Baccarat says that the resort will offer the “finest dining experiences befitting of the esteemed Baccarat Hotels brand, including specialty restaurants.” However, nothing specific has yet to be revealed.

Elsewhere on site, Baccarat says the new resort will include a nine-hole golf course, tennis courts, fishing excursions, snorkeling, an art gallery, an outdoor cinema, a spa, a gym, and a Baccarat-themed crystal garden.

“We are excited to unveil Baccarat Hotel & Residences Maldives, which fuses the timeless elegance and modern sophistication of the House of Baccarat, the legendary 260-year-old crystal brand, with the Maldives, a location that is synonymous with paradise,” Barry Sternlicht, Chairman and CEO of Starwood Capital Group that manages the Baccarat brand, said.

The new Maldives resort joins other in-progress builds for Baccarat, which continues to expand its ultra-luxury offerings. Others in the works include a new resort in Dubai and another in Rome.
