New Opening: Kimpton Atlântico Algarve in Portugal

The first Kimpton-branded hotel in Portugal has arrived with the opening of Kimpton Atlântico Algarve. The property offers everything guests know and love from the IHG Hotels & Resorts luxury brand, while staying true to its Mediterranean surroundings.
Kimpton Atlântico Algarve is located on the golden sands of São Rafael Beach in southern Portugal, nearby the vibrant town of Albufeira. It notably offers 149 rooms and suites, an array of wellness amenities, and several dining options.
“From bold design, vibrant flavors and immersive moments, we offer a new kind of luxury that’s both sophisticated and playful,” said Catarina Simões, the hotel’s general manager. “Every detail at Kimpton Atlântico Algarve is thoughtfully curated to celebrate our guests, from locally inspired dining to warm, intuitive service and more. We are looking forward to bringing a fresh expression of luxury to Portugal’s south coast – one that celebrates both place and people.”
The hotel’s Wellness Hub features a heated indoor pool, hydroactive spa circuit with a flotation tank, jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish baths, and a gym. Food and beverage venues include the Terra bar, café, and market; Sombra, an outdoor seafood restaurant; Marés, a beachfront restaurant serving Mediterranean cuisine; and Zénite, the rooftop cocktail bar.
The property’s interiors emulate the serene landscapes and laid-back lifestyle of the area with natural textures, warm earth tones, airy linens, smooth stone surfaces, and handcrafted ceramics. Meanwhile, it offers Kimpton’s signature pet-friendly policies, evening Social Hours, and “Forgot It? We Got It” complimentary items program.
