Claridge’s in Mayfair has appointed Jochem Meijerink as hotel manager. He steps into the role after more than a decade at Corinthia London, where he advanced from front office manager to hotel manager, a position he held from 2020 until this summer.
Originally from the Netherlands, Meijerink moved to London in 2008 after completing his degree in international hospitality management. He began his career in the city with roles at Jumeirah Carlton Tower and London Hilton on Park Lane before joining Corinthia in 2015 as front office manager. Over the next 10 years, he held senior positions in guest operations before becoming the hotel manager.
His appointment at Claridge’s follows the completion of the property’s most ambitious redevelopment in its nearly 170-year history. The seven-year project added 72 rooms and suites across three new floors, a rooftop penthouse with a private pool and ornamental lake, and new public spaces including a subterranean spa, swimming pool, art gallery, and café. While the hotel’s Art Deco character remains intact, the expansion has repositioned Claridge’s among London’s largest luxury properties.
Claridge’s is part of Maybourne Hotel Group, which also operates The Connaught, The Berkeley, and The Emory. Within the group, Claridge’s is regarded as the flagship, drawing both long-standing guests and new clientele attracted by its updated facilities.
Meijerink’s move into the hotel manager role places him at the center of daily operations at a property that blends heritage and expanded scale. His career in London’s competitive luxury market provides him with direct experience of the expectations and demands that define the city’s top-tier hotels.
