Radisson Hotel Group has opened Palazzo San Gottardo Lake Como, introducing the brand to Como with a restored lakeside palazzo located between Piazza Cavour and Piazza Volta. The 70-room property is a new addition to the Radisson Collection portfolio in one of northern Italy’s most established resort destinations, placing guests steps from the historic center and within easy reach of the lakefront.
Originally opened in 1926, the building underwent a full restoration that preserves key architectural elements, including rounded corner volumes, stone cornices, and geometric motifs, while introducing a more contemporary interior design rooted in Italian craftsmanship. Guestrooms and suites are oriented toward city and piazza views, with select categories offering expanded living areas and furnished balconies. The scale is intentionally intimate, with inventory capped at 70 keys.

Dining is organized across three venues. Radiante serves as the hotel’s fine-dining anchor under Chef Danilo Vella, while Lumi Rooftop Bar & Restaurant occupies the upper level with panoramic views across Como’s rooftops and surrounding hills. At street level, Caffè Lariano, led by Chef Mirko Gatti, introduces a bistro concept centered on seasonal ingredients and a zero-waste approach, supported by an in-house pastry laboratory.
Wellness facilities include SPA Fontea, an urban spa concept inspired by natural springs, featuring treatment rooms, a relaxation lounge, and a dedicated indoor water area for year-round use. A modern fitness studio rounds out the wellness offering. For small-scale meetings and private gatherings, Sala Cavour offers a 450-square-foot event space that accommodates up to 20 guests and features integrated presentation technology and natural light.

Operationally, the hotel benefits from proximity to Como’s main landmarks, including the Duomo, Teatro Sociale, and the Brunate funicular, as well as direct access to the lakeside promenade. A partnership with the local navigation company Tasell enables private lake tours departing from a pier less than 100 yards from the property, making the hotel an ideal base for exploring surrounding villages such as Torno, Blevio, and Moltrasio.
