Ellenborough Park has appointed Gareth Davies as its new general manager, with the role taking effect on Jan. 6, 2026. Davies will assume full responsibility for operations at the Cotswolds country house hotel, overseeing accommodations, food and beverage, and the spa as the property enters its next phase of leadership.
Davies joins Ellenborough Park from Rhinefield House, where he led hotel operations across departments. His career spans more than 15 years in UK luxury hospitality, with senior management roles at properties including Stanbrook Abbey Hotel and New Hall Hotel and Spa. His background covers hotel operations, food and beverage management, and guest-facing teams, experience that positions him to take on day-to-day oversight of the 61-room property.
Located on a 90-acre estate near Cheltenham, Ellenborough Park is set within a restored 15th-century manor house in the Cotswolds. The hotel includes 61 rooms and suites, which underwent an extensive refurbishment completed in 2023, as well as a standalone one-bedroom private lodge set within the grounds. Dining operations include two on-site concepts, alongside seasonal alfresco offerings, while wellness facilities include a spa, thermal suites, a fitness room, and an outdoor heated swimming pool.
Operationally, the property is also known for its direct access to Cheltenham Racecourse via a private track, used for guest transfers during the racing season. Ellenborough Park is a member of PoB Hotels, the UK-based collection of independent luxury properties.
“I am honored to join the dedicated team at Ellenborough Park and look forward to working with such a fantastic team,” Davies said. “The hotel has an outstanding reputation for high-quality service and luxury and I’m looking forward to making my own contribution to further amplify the guest experience. With the hotel celebrating its 15th anniversary next year, it’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate its heritage while shaping the next chapter.”
Davies’ appointment coincides with a milestone year for the hotel, which will mark its 15th anniversary in 2026. From January, he will work alongside the existing leadership and operational teams as the property continues regular operations and anniversary planning.
