Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has officially opened Fairmont New Orleans, marking the luxury brand’s return to the city after a 20-year absence and the opening of its 100th property worldwide.
Located in the heart of New Orleans’ Central Business District, within walking distance of the French Quarter, the 250-room hotel occupies 17 stories of the former Bank of New Orleans building, a 31-story landmark originally designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in 1970.
The brand-new property combines historic architecture with contemporary luxury, featuring newly designed guest rooms and suites, multiple dining venues developed in partnership with celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse, and more than 19,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

Designed by the Rockwell Group, the hotel’s interiors draw inspiration from New Orleans’ 1970s glamour rather than the traditional colonial architecture associated with the French Quarter.
Original architectural elements, including the building’s bronze paneling, cypress ceilings and lobby floors, have been restored, while contemporary furnishings, colorful textures and locally commissioned artwork create a modern interpretation of the city’s heritage.
The hotel’s 250 guest rooms and suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows, custom artwork, residential-style furnishings and amenities including Le Labo Rose 31 bath products, Nespresso machines, locally stocked minibars and twice-daily housekeeping.
Fairmont Gold is scheduled to debut in December on the building’s 29th and 30th floors.

One of the hotel’s highlights is its culinary partnership with New Orleans celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse. Delmonico Steakhouse, the concept’s first location outside Las Vegas, offers prime cuts dry-aged in-house, Japanese Wagyu, premium seafood, and an oyster and caviar program. The Café by Emeril offers a more casual setting for breakfast and lunch, combining French brasserie classics with Creole and Southern influences.
Additional dining and drinking venues are scheduled to open in early December, including Bleu Perdu, a rooftop restaurant and poolside lounge offering panoramic views of the city and Mississippi River.
Third Measure, an intimate cocktail bar developed in collaboration with Neal Bodenheimer, founder of New Orleans’ acclaimed Cure, will also debut in December.

A 10,000-square-foot spa and fitness center is expected to open in early December, featuring three private treatment rooms, a couples’ suite, a dry sauna, a steam room, relaxation lounges, and a fitness studio equipped with Matrix Onyx equipment.
The hotel will also introduce Fairmont’s Wellness Without Walls concept, encouraging guests to explore New Orleans through outdoor activities, including self-guided walks, kayaking, pedal boating, and running routes along the Mississippi River.
The rooftop pool deck, also scheduled to open in December, will feature sun loungers, private cabanas, and spaces for live entertainment.
Opening rates are now starting at $459 per night.
