Fairmont has officially opened its second outpost in India, unveiling the striking new Fairmont Udaipur Palace. Set across 18 acres in the Aravalli Hills, the 327-room palace marks a major milestone in Fairmont’s South Asia expansion and adds a new layer of opulence to the growing luxury landscape in Rajasthan.

The resort blends Rajputana-inspired architecture with contemporary details. With a layout modeled on the great fortresses of Mewar, the palace features traditional chhatris, courtyards, and terraces, alongside modern amenities like a 12,000-square-foot wellness sanctuary, private helipad, and seven dedicated event venues, including one of the region’s largest ballrooms.

“The opening of Fairmont Udaipur Palace marks a defining moment in Fairmont’s journey in India,” said Omer Acar, the CEO of Raffles & Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. “[It’s] a tribute to the timeless beauty and cultural richness of Udaipur, one of India’s most iconic and romantic destinations.”

For advisors booking destination weddings, incentive groups, or private getaways, the palace’s versatility stands out. Beyond its 327 rooms and suites—including private-pool accommodations and the sprawling Jewel of Udaipur Suite—the hotel offers over 140,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, as well as signature restaurants and bars, and curated experiences ranging from stargazing rituals to Thikri-inspired art walks. A standout is Mehfil, an open-air courtyard framed by 550 marble columns, designed for music performances and regal celebrations.

“Our vision was to create more than a hotel, a living palace that stirs emotion, celebrates culture and offers experiences that linger in memory,” said general manager Vishrut Guptaa. “Every element has been crafted with intention and care.”

The launch follows the success of Fairmont Jaipur, which opened to award-winning success in 2012.
