Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo has named Guillaume Ranvier as general manager, effective Jan. 5. He succeeds Louis Starck, who moved to Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo last September. Ranvier arrives from the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris, where he has served as hotel manager since 2023.
The appointment places a seasoned Hyatt and Four Seasons executive at the helm of one of Monaco’s Belle Époque landmarks, as the property prepares to unveil new suites and a redesigned lobby bar this summer.
Ranvier began his career at Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme as director of food and beverage, later moving into director of rooms and director of operations roles. During his tenure, he contributed to the hotel’s full renovation and operational performance. He later relocated to Doha to support the opening of a Park Hyatt as director of operations, adding Middle East pre-opening experience to his résumé.
Following the pandemic, he returned to the French Riviera as hotel manager of the Martinez in Cannes, overseeing its first post-COVID season and a broad operational reorganization. He was subsequently appointed general manager of Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Méditerranée, where he led a restaurant renovation, introduced a repositioning project, and achieved record revenue levels in 2022.
Since 2023, at Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris, he has focused on operational performance and guest experience at one of the capital’s most established palace hotels.
Now in Monaco, Ranvier takes over Hôtel Hermitage at a moment of visible transition. Opened in 1928, the property is defined by its Belle Époque façade and Winter Garden crowned by an Eiffel-designed glass dome. The hotel overlooks the Mediterranean and sits within walking distance of Place du Casino.
The Hermitage’s dining lineup includes Pavyllon Monte-Carlo by Yannick Alléno and the Japanese-inspired L’Abysse Monte-Carlo. In June, the hotel will debut newly created suites, alongside Bar Gustave, a new lobby bar located beneath the Eiffel dome in the Winter Garden.
