Rosewood Hotel Group has officially opened Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin in Courchevel 1850, the brand’s first dedicated winter resort and its second property in mainland France. The 51-room property sits in the Jardin Alpin enclave with direct ski-in, ski-out access to Les Trois Vallées, the world’s largest connected ski area.
The hotel occupies a storied address on Rue du Jardin Alpin, an area long associated with the resort’s most private chalets and immediate slope access. Courchevel’s altiport, which opened in 1961, is a defining logistical advantage for high-net-worth winter travelers, allowing direct mountain arrivals alongside helicopter transfers and private drivers from Geneva or Lyon.

French interior designer Tristan Auer conceived the property as an eclectic chalet. The façade combines Vals Quartzite quarried in Switzerland with wood and copper detailing, while the hand-carved entrance door uses locally sourced timber. Inside, 51 rooms and suites include three standalone “houses,” each designed as alpine residences with private seated terraces oriented toward the surrounding peaks.
Two two-bedroom penthouses accommodate up to four guests, while the four-bedroom Jardin Alpin Apartment hosts up to eight and includes a private elevator, cinema, professional kitchen, and expansive terraces overlooking the Sommet de la Saulire. That residence was designed by Karl Fournier and Olivier Marty of Studio KO. Throughout the hotel, materials lean tactile and architectural—hand-sculpted concrete headboards, Himalayan salt lighting elements, brushed stone, and end-grain wood flooring nodding to traditional chalet construction.

Art plays a visible role in the public spaces. In the lobby, Icelandic-Danish artist Olafur Eliasson’s installation, “Two harmonious yet different crystals sharing views and reflection,” anchors the arrival experience. Additional works include chamotte stoneware and glass by French artist Amandine Haeghen and a textile piece by Morgane Baroghel-Crucq. The Cigar Lounge, shaped to resemble an inverted pinecone, was crafted by Studio MTX of Atelier Montex.
Dining centers on Salto, led by Chef Gioia Baek, whose background includes time at Da Vittorio in Bergamo. The restaurant transitions from slope-facing daytime service—fondue variations, grilled seafood, and meats prepared over open flame—to an evening format focused on alpine-inspired dishes. A terrace with a fire pit and direct ski access positions Salto as an on-mountain lunch-and-après-ski address.

The Asaya spa introduces Rosewood’s wellness concept to Courchevel, with a sauna, hammam, cold bath, jacuzzi, Technogym-equipped fitness suite, and reformer Pilates machines. Treatments include a deep Alpine massage for post-ski recovery, as well as partnerships with Maison EviDenS de Beauté and Sodashi.
Personal ski concierges coordinate slope access across Les Trois Vallées, including First Track experiences and private instruction.
