If you’ve ever navigated the chaos of Cancun International Airport, you might find it hard to believe that less than 15 minutes away lies a serene luxury resort. A proud member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, Nizuc Resort & Spa was envisioned by a collective of local artists, with deep inspiration drawn from Mayan traditions.

While most properties in the Cancun area follow the all-inclusive model, Nizuc distinguishes itself as a boutique property with à la carte dining, designed to provide the best of everything. Once sacred ground for Mayan astronomers, the resort now spans on 29 acres within a protected mangrove reserve, divided into two sections: family and adults only. The layout ensures that every area feels both secluded and easily accessible. Whether you choose to stay exclusively in the adults section or explore the main beach area, the experience remains effortless and luxurious.

Food & Drink

For foodie travelers, the à la carte dining concept offers a clear advantage over all-inclusive plans. Free from the constraints of budgeted meals, Nizuc’s executive chef, French-born Sylvain Desbois, is free to create bold, imaginative menus that celebrate fresh ingredients and culinary artistry.

Guests can choose from six restaurants, as well as a Dom Pérignon Wine Cellar Experience and two cocktail bars:

  • Ramona – A refined take on traditional Mexican cuisine
  • Indochine – Asian fusion with an exclusive Omakase experience
  • Ni – Elegant Peruvian dining with water views
  • Café de la Playa – A generous and sophisticated breakfast buffet
  • La Punta Grill – Casual steak and seafood fare by the beach
  • Terra Nostra – A stylish Italian restaurant with a modern twist

Residential-Style Suites

Each of the 274 suites at Nizuc is a residential-style retreat. With 700 square feet of indoor space and a 300-square-foot terrace featuring a plunge pool, every suite is its own secluded oasis nestled in the heart of the Mayan jungle.

Inside, guests will find a plush king-size bed, a cozy sofa, a dining area for two, and a dedicated work station. The bathroom is a highlight, featuring a deep soaking tub, rainfall shower, vanity dresser, and high-end entertainment systems with flat-screen TVs in both the bedroom and bathroom. Every detail—down to the lighting and textures—has been thoughtfully curated for comfort, convenience, and luxury.

The resort also offers four expansive villas, each with a full-size private pool and outdoor kitchen and dining area for the ultimate privacy.

A Complete Wellness Experience

Nizuc is also home to the first ESPA-branded spa in the Mexican Caribbean, offering 30,000 square feet of spa facilities and a full range of beauty and wellness treatments. The Nizuc Thermal Experience guides guests through a sensory journey inspired by the four elements including exclusive water therapy and oxygen therapy experiences.

Wellness offerings also include a state-of-the-art fitness center, two on-site tennis courts, non-motorized beach sports, a beauty salon, and a variety of classes such as yoga, pilates, meditation, and breathwork workshops.

A Mystical Lobby

Spread across nine buildings within the 29-acre property, the suites at Nizuc all connect to the heart of the resort: its mystical lobby. At sunset, guests gather around the tranquil reflective pool, which serves as both a visual centerpiece and a popular venue for weddings and special events. The adjacent cocktail and lobby bar provides panoramic ocean views and an inviting social atmosphere.
