Amanvari Opens on Baja’s East Cape as Aman’s First Mexico Resort
The brand’s first Mexico resort pairs just 18 private casitas with expansive terraces and pools, a destination spa, and access to the Sea of Cortés.

Aman has officially arrived in Mexico with the opening of Amanvari, an intimate 18-casita resort on Baja California Sur’s East Cape. Set within the private Costa Palmas community along the Sea of Cortés, the property is the brand’s first destination in the country and its latest addition in the Americas.
Designed by Elastic Architects with initial contributions from Heah & Co., Amanvari sits where desert, estuary and sea meet beneath the Sierra de la Laguna mountains. The resort’s 18 standalone, two-story casitas are positioned along the water, with some elevated above the estuary and others closer to the shore. Each measures 883 square feet and includes a terrace of up to 1,700 square feet, along with a private 32-foot heated pool, outdoor shower and fireplace.

“The opening of Amanvari is a significant milestone in Aman’s continued expansion in the Americas,” said Vlad Doronin, chairman and CEO of Aman Group. “Combining a unique setting, thoughtful design and architecture, generosity of space and the unparalleled service synonymous with Aman, Amanvari establishes a new benchmark for hospitality on Baja’s East Cape.”
Four dining venues range from Mexican coastal cooking at Luma, where dishes center on open-fire techniques and ingredients sourced from regional farms and fisheries, to Arva, Aman’s signature Italian concept. Sesui serves Japanese cuisine with a 10-seat omakase counter and à la carte dining, while the Lounge Bar and pool offer more casual options throughout the day.
Wellness is centered around the Aman Spa and Wellness center, which incorporates Mexican healing traditions into the brand’s established wellness program. Facilities include a contemporary interpretation of a temazcal, Aman’s first, as well as a traditional banya and hammam, six treatment rooms, a 24-hour fitness center, beauty salon with head spa and an open-air yoga pavilion.
Guests can explore beyond the resort with horseback rides through desert and coastal landscapes, private boat excursions, seasonal whale watching and snorkeling or diving around the coral reefs of Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park. Amanvari guests also have access to Costa Palmas’ broader 1,500-acre estate, including three miles of swimmable beachfront, organic farms and orchards, a Robert Trent Jones II-designed golf course and a deep-water marina and yacht club.
Amanvari also includes a limited collection of Aman-branded residences. The opening comes as Aman continues its Americas expansion, with future properties planned for Miami Beach, Beverly Hills, the Exuma Islands, and Texas Hill Country.
