Lucknam Park has appointed David Griffin as general manager, bringing a seasoned hotelier to the Cotswolds estate as it prepares for a new phase of investment in its wellness offerings.
Griffin joins the 500-acre country estate with more than 20 years of senior hospitality leadership experience across luxury hotels and historic country house properties in the U.K. He will oversee all operations at the property, including its 42 rooms and suites, nine cottages, Michelin-starred Restaurant Hywel Jones, equestrian center, spa, and extensive parkland.
Lucknam Park is beginning a series of upgrades designed to strengthen its position as one of the region’s leading wellness retreats. Planned projects include a renovation of the outdoor hydrotherapy pool, reimagined as a year-round wellness experience, and a complete refurbishment of the fitness center, featuring new Technogym equipment and redesigned training spaces. Additional wellness-focused enhancements are also in development.

For advisors with clients seeking countryside escapes, the investment reflects the growing demand for luxury properties that combine traditional country-house hospitality with more robust wellness programming. Located just outside Bath, Lucknam Park has long been known for its equestrian facilities, destination dining, and spa, and the latest improvements will likely further expand its appeal within the increasingly competitive wellness travel segment.
“I am thrilled to take on the leadership of Lucknam Park at such an exciting moment in its evolution,” Griffin said in a statement. “The Cotswolds continue to be one of the U.K.’s most sought-after destinations, and Lucknam Park plays a defining role in that landscape.”
Lucknam Park joined Accor’s Emblems Collection in 2025, becoming one of the brand’s flagship properties in the U.K.
