Rosewood is bringing its luxury hospitality brand to the Japanese capital, announcing plans for Rosewood Tokyo, the company’s first urban property in Japan and a significant addition to its growing Asia-Pacific portfolio.
Set within the massive Roppongi 5-Chome redevelopment project, the hotel will set Rosewood at the center of one of Tokyo’s most ambitious mixed-use districts. The development is a partnership with Mori Building Co., Ltd. and Sumitomo Realty & Development Co., Ltd., and will combine hospitality, residences, retail, and office space in a prime location directly connected to Roppongi Station.

The project is Rosewood’s second entry into Japan, following last year’s opening of Rosewood Miyakojima, but it offers a dramatically different proposition. While Miyakojima focuses on a remote island setting, Rosewood Tokyo is designed to immerse guests in one of the world’s most dynamic urban environments.
When it opens, the hotel will feature approximately 200 guestrooms and suites, including a selection of larger three-bedroom accommodations that could appeal to families, multigenerational travelers, and longer-stay guests. Dining will play a central role, with multiple restaurants and bars inspired by Tokyo’s globally influential culinary scene.
The property will also feature several of the brand’s signature offerings, such as Manor Club and the Asaya wellness concept. Planned wellness facilities include an indoor pool, fitness center, and yoga spaces, while meeting and event facilities will be anchored by a grand ballroom designed to host international gatherings and cultural events.
The project also reflects Rosewood’s broader growth strategy across Asia and beyond. In addition to Tokyo, the brand has several high-profile openings in development, including properties in Seoul, Shenzhen, the Maldives, Napa Valley, and Rome.
