Rosewood Hong Kong Named World’s Best Hotel for the Second Consecutive Year
Rosewood Hong Kong retained the top spot as Europe and Asia dominated the 2026 ranking.

Rosewood Hong Kong has been named the World’s Best Hotel for the second consecutive year, retaining the top position in the 2026 edition of The World’s 50 Best Hotels.
The 413-room property, which occupies 65 stories above Victoria Harbour, also received the title of Best Hotel in Asia. Designed by Tony Chi, Rosewood Hong Kong opened in 2019 with 11 restaurants and bars, a multi-level Asaya wellness center and two private Asaya Lodges featuring dedicated spa chambers and sleep-enhancing technology.
Capella Bangkok placed second, climbing one spot from its 2025 ranking, while Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River took third. Atlantis The Royal in Dubai ranked fourth and received both the Best Hotel in the Middle East and Best Beach Hotel awards. Passalacqua in Lake Como rounded out the top five and was named Best Boutique Hotel for the third consecutive year.
“Rosewood Hong Kong retaining its No.1 position for a second consecutive year underlines Asia’s continued influence at the very highest level,” said Faye Huggett, director of community for The 50 Best Hotels. She added that Europe’s representation and the ranking’s 10 new entries reflect a “dynamic, diverse, and competitive global hotel landscape.”
Europe had the largest presence on the list, with 21 hotels, including six each in Italy and France and four in the United Kingdom. Asia followed with 18 properties. North America accounted for six, including four in Mexico and two new U.S. entries: San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara at No. 22 and Amangiri in Utah at No. 45.
Other notable winners included Chablé Yucatán, ranked ninth, which received the Eco Hotel Award following an audit by the Sustainable Restaurant Association. Patina Osaka, at No. 33, was named the Best New Hotel, while Casa Maria Luigia in Modena debuted at No. 18 as the ranking’s highest new entry. Rosewood also received the Most Admired Hotel Group Award.
The fourth annual ranking was revealed during a ceremony in Paris, the first time the event was held outside London. An academy of more than 800 hoteliers, travel journalists, educators, business travelers, and experienced hotel guests determined the results, with Deloitte serving as the independent adjudicator.
