The Rosewood Hotel Group took advantage of ILTM Cannes to make several announcements, including two important firsts for the luxury portfolio.

Anthony Ingham, Chief Operating Officer of Rosewood, shared that 2025 is “a year like no other,” marked by significant growth and the highest number of openings and new announcements in the brand’s history.

“It wasn’t planned; it’s simply that each Rosewood property takes an average of 10 years from conception to opening. As the brand grows incrementally, 2025 has become a record year for us. From a business point of view, it is challenging, but from a marketing perspective, it is sensational because we have a lot to say,” Ingham told LTR.

After opening its first-ever property in Japan this year, Rosewood Miyakojima, the luxury brand welcomed its fourth Mexican property, Rosewood Mandarina (a fifth is coming in 2027), and its first hotel in Qatar with Rosewood Doha.

New openings also include Rosewood Amsterdam and The Chancery, a Rosewood property, in London.

A first ski property for Rosewood this winter

The biggest announcement was Rosewood’s first step into the ski-retreat sector with the upcoming opening of Rosewood Courchevel in the French Alps on December 19, 2025.

Offering direct access to the piste, 51 luxury accommodations – including rooms, suites, and houses -and dedicated ski butlers, the property promises to elevate the quintessential Courchevel experience.

Another first is the brand’s arrival in Greece with a new property set to open in Crete in Summer 2026. The seaside retreat will boast 154 rooms and suites, 85 of which will include private pools.

Additional openings include Rosewood Amaala in Saudi Arabia in April 2026, featuring 135 rooms -among them sea-facing villas, and 25 residences; Rosewood Roma in Summer 2026, set in a restored early-1900s historic building in the heart of the Eternal City, offering 155 rooms and 44 suites; and Rosewood Red Sea, opening Fall 2026 on the island of Shura with 149 rooms and suites.

In 2027, Rosewood Calistoga will debut in Napa Valley, complete with two working wineries on-site. It will be the final project of celebrity designer Ed Tuttle, who sadly passed away shortly after delivering the mock-ups for the property.

Finally, it has been shared that Mexico has become a very important destination for Rosewood, with a fifth property slated to open in Mexico City in 2027, along with a 117-villa overwater resort on the island of Ranfaru in the Maldives.

“We go where our clients will be traveling in the coming years,” concludes Anthony Ingham. “Not where they are going right now, but where they will be going. For Rosewood, it’s not about being relevant today – it’s about planning for and envisioning the future of luxury travel.”
