Beginning May 28, Hermitage Hotel & Resort officially joins Starhotels Collezione, the latest addition to the luxury collection, bringing renewed attention to one of Forte dei Marmi’s longtime family-owned hospitality landmarks.

Set on nearly 4 acres of private gardens in the heart of Italy’s Versilia coast, the 59-room resort occupies a different niche from many of the area’s beachfront hotels. While the sea is just minutes away, Hermitage’s appeal lies in its secluded setting, where expansive greenery, oversized accommodations, and a slower pace create an atmosphere that feels more residential than resort-driven.

Accommodations include 59 rooms and suites, many of which are designed for extended stays, with generous storage, private terraces, and verandas overlooking the gardens. Interiors draw inspiration from the natural palette of the Tuscan coast, with neutral tones intended to complement the surrounding landscape.

One of the property’s signature features is Cabana Beach, a poolside area inspired by Forte dei Marmi’s iconic beach clubs. Tropical landscaping, private cabanas, and shaded lounging areas create an alternative to the nearby shoreline, giving guests another option for long afternoons outdoors.

Dining focuses on seasonal Tuscan cuisine and casual, family-friendly offerings. The resort’s Orto all’Hermitage restaurant incorporates ingredients from an on-site organic garden, which also serves as a venue for tastings, aperitifs, and other guest experiences. Additional options include pizza and barbecue, as well as cocktails at the Cabana Lounge Bar.

Families remain a core focus of the resort’s identity. Dedicated children’s areas are intentionally separated from adult relaxation spaces, while a rotating schedule of activities includes creative workshops, sports, treasure hunts, and evening programming designed for younger guests.
