One of Jamaica’s most beloved resorts, Round Hill has announced that it’s moving quickly toward recovery after Hurricane Melissa battered the island.
While the Montego Bay property suffered only “minimal cosmetic damage” from the storm, the property reports that the island’s roads, power grid, and airport operations were all more heavily impacted. While local infrastructure in the area stabilizes, Round Hill will remain closed and reopen to guests on Monday, Dec. 8—or sooner, if possible.
The resort’s first priority in the storm’s aftermath has been its team. Leadership is actively checking in with staff and their families and has partnered with Hanover Charities to channel on-the-ground support. Round Hill has also launched an Employee Relief Fund through the organization, with all donations routed directly to affected team members and neighbors.
For travelers with upcoming stays, the resort has released a clear, two-track policy for all reservations between Oct. 25 and Dec. 7, 2025. Guests can either cancel without penalty and receive a full refund of all deposits, or retain their deposit as a credit for a future stay. Credits will remain valid for one year from the original arrival date and can be applied to new dates at prevailing rates. Round Hill is asking guests to reach out by email while internal systems are brought back online and has committed to processing refunds and rebookings as soon as service is restored.
As cleanup efforts continue, Round Hill says it will share ongoing updates across its channels, but looking ahead, the resort expects festive season and winter 2026 programming to proceed as planned.
