Six Senses has appointed André Buldini as cluster general manager for Six Senses Rome and the forthcoming Six Senses Milan, putting both Italian flagships under one hand at a pivotal moment for the brand’s city push. Buldini joined Six Senses in 2020 and most recently led Six Senses Douro Valley, following earlier roles in Marrakech, Casablanca, and London, as well as graduate work at Cornell.

Rome remains the proof point. As the brand’s first urban hotel, Six Senses Rome sits in a restored palazzo and has helped translate a wellness-first ethos to a high-density setting where neighborhood, heritage, and programming matter as much as spa menus. The assignment in Milan raises the bar: opening in late 2026 on Via Brera facing the Pinacoteca and within easy reach of the Duomo, the 69-room hotel is slated to add a rooftop bar, specialty restaurant, and a full Six Senses Spa, with design cues rooted in Milanese craft.

The combined remit suggests tighter alignment across two of Europe’s most visited cultural capitals—coordinated talent pipelines, unified positioning, and the ability to tune experiences to distinct city rhythms while preserving the brand’s signatures. It also concentrates accountability for pre-opening in Milan while maintaining momentum in Rome, an approach that can help with owner relations, cost discipline, and speed to market.

Buldini frames the opportunity in Rome’s context: “I’m deeply honored to continue this exciting Italian journey with Six Senses, now leading both our Rome and Milan properties,” eHotelier reported. “Stepping into this new role is both an inspiring professional challenge and a wonderful opportunity to deepen our connection with the Eternal City.”

If Six Senses Milan lands on schedule and Rome keeps performing, Italy becomes a bellwether for how the brand scales in cities—measured not by splashy amenities, but by how well heritage settings, wellness programming, and local culture are woven together day to day.
