Tamarind Reopens Following Major Barbados Renovation
The 111-room resort’s return completes Marriott’s two-year transformation of its seven-property Barbados Collection.

Tamarind has reopened on Barbados’ Platinum West Coast following an extensive renovation, completing Marriott International’s two-year transformation of all seven resorts in its Barbados Collection.
Now operating as Tamarind, Barbados, an Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort, the beachfront property has 111 redesigned guestrooms and suites, updated public spaces and an expanded collection of restaurants and activities. Its refreshed interiors draw on Barbados’ colors and natural scenery, combining contemporary Caribbean design with a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.
Dining options include breakfast at Sugar Cane Restaurant, coffee and light bites at Harvest & Hive, local and international dishes at 246 Bar & Restaurant, and casual beachfront fare at Sugar Shack. The resort will also introduce Caribbean Restaurant, billed as the island’s first air-conditioned restaurant devoted exclusively to Barbadian cuisine.
Cultural programming ranges from rum tastings and Soca dance lessons to cooking classes featuring traditional Bajan fish cakes. Families can use CAMP Club, an indoor-outdoor children’s space developed through a partnership between CAMP and Marriott Bonvoy. Activities incorporate Barbadian arts and crafts, music, storytelling and interactive games.

Other amenities include several swimming pools, motorized and non-motorized water sports, wellness programming and beachfront areas. Guests can also participate in the Barbados Collection’s Dine Around Program, which provides access to restaurants and experiences at participating sister resorts.
The reopening completes a portfolio-wide renovation that brought Waves Resort & Spa, Treasure Beach, The House and Tamarind into Marriott’s Autograph Collection. Crystal Cove and Turtle Beach now belong to the Tribute Portfolio, while Colony Club reopened as Barbados’ first Luxury Collection resort.
Tamarind also joins The House and Treasure Beach in the collection’s West Coast grouping, known as the Lifestyle Stretch. The three resorts are complemented by the new Sandtrap Beach Club.
For weddings, meetings and other gatherings, Tamarind offers two indoor event spaces and several outdoor venues, with capacity for as many as 400 guests. Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and redeem points during stays at the resort.
