Atlantis Paradise Island Review: A Smart Pick for Families, Groups, and Multi-Gen Travel

Atlantis Paradise Island is unlike any other resort. One of the largest resort complexes in the Caribbean—and one of the first-ever casino resorts on a tropical island—Atlantis remains the benchmark for the dozens of other sprawling Caribbean properties that have since followed.

Today, the resort boasts more than 3,500 rooms spread across four different towers, along with more than 40 on-site dining options, a casino, nightclub, mall, marina, golf course, spa, water park, and so much more. The complex recently completed a $250 million renovation and introduced exciting new partnerships throughout the resort, including a complete transformation of The Royal Towers, a reimagined casino, and a brand-new spa.

Here’s why Atlantis Bahamas remains relevant even after more than 30 years in business.

Why Travel Advisors Book It

  • With four distinct towers, guests can choose their preferred ambiance and vibe.
  • The resort features over 40 dining options, including restaurants led by multiple Michelin-recognized chefs.
  • With its wide variety of attractions and amenities, Atlantis truly offers something for everyone.
  • It’s an ideal destination for groups, with the capacity to host large gatherings and a wide range of event spaces.

Rooms & Suites

What we love about Atlantis Bahamas is that even while staying at the same resort, every visit can feel completely different—if that’s what you’re looking for. Each tower offers a distinct atmosphere and a unique stay experience, while still providing full access to all of Atlantis’ amenities.

Guests can choose from nearly 3,000 rooms and suites across four different towers, divided as follows:

  • The Cove: 600 suites
  • The Reef: 497 rooms & suites
  • The Royal: 1,201 rooms & suites
  • The Coral: 609 rooms

The Royal is the signature tower of Atlantis, offering the largest selection of rooms and categories, including expansive suites such as the Royal Suite and the iconic Bridge Suite, which can accommodate up to nine guests—ideal for families and groups. Centrally located and recently renovated, all rooms at The Royal feature a brand-new look and provide easy access to everything Atlantis has to offer.

The newly renovated guest rooms at The Royal showcase a fresh, modern design with ocean-inspired tones of blue and white. Each room features a seating area, a working/dining table with two chairs, and floor-to-ceiling windows with a French balcony overlooking the waterscape. The bathroom includes a combined shower-bathtub. Additional amenities include a small refrigerator, digital safe, iron and ironing board, and a coffee maker.

The Cove is a hotel-within-a-hotel, offering a higher level of service with a dedicated lobby and check-in, adults-only spaces, and an all-suite tower designed for a more exclusive experience.

The Coral is a family-friendly tower located near the marina, offering a more approachable price point and rooms with balconies.

The Reef features residential-style accommodations, including studio lofts and one- or two-bedroom suites, all equipped with full kitchens and amenities designed for longer stays.

Food & Drink

The hotel is a true foodie paradise, offering more than 40 dining experiences, including restaurants by three Michelin-starred chefs, as well as a wide variety of food trucks and casual counters throughout the resort. Whatever you’re craving, you’re sure to find it somewhere on the property.

Personal favorites include Nobu, conveniently located within the casino; Fish by José Andrés, considered by locals one of the best restaurants in the Bahamas, at The Cove; and the Italian eatery Paranza by Michael White. Guests will also find familiar favorites such as Carmine’s, Starbucks, and even Shake Shack on the property.

A gigantic buffet restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offering a fresh selection each day, and room service is available 24/7.

Good to know: Atlantis has recently launched new dining concepts, including Gong Cha, Cocodrilo, and Kò Sà-Wăn by acclaimed chef Ian Kittichai.

Fish by José Andrés is considered by many to be one of the best restaurants in the Bahamas.

Amenities & Facilities

The resort feels like a mini village, offering just about everything you can think of—all in one place. It’s entirely possible to never leave the property during your stay, as virtually everything you could need or want is right there—and that’s no exaggeration. That’s why so many families love this property—you don’t have to leave the resort, everything is easily accessible, and there’s so much to do that kids stay entertained all day. That said, guests traveling without children will enjoy it just as much (we know we did!).

The main highlight of Atlantis is its world-famous water park. Guests enjoy free and unlimited access to Aquaventure, the largest water park in the Bahamas, featuring over 20 million gallons of aquatic fun. Spanning 141 acres, Aquaventure offers high-speed water slides, a rapid river, 14 swimming pools, five miles of white-sand beaches, and more than 20 swimming areas, along with additional experiences such as snorkeling with manta rays or dolphins, and the world’s largest open-air marine habitat, featuring 14 lagoons, 8 million gallons of ocean water, and over 50,000 aquatic animals from more than 250 species.

The recently upgraded casino is another iconic feature of Atlantis. It features 80 gaming tables, including blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat, and mini-baccarat, offering a diverse and exciting gaming experience.

The spa is currently undergoing a multimillion-dollar transformation that will elevate the resort’s wellness offerings to a new level of luxury. Drawing inspiration from ancient Asian techniques, traditional European therapies, and natural ingredients indigenous to the Bahamas—such as local spices, fruits, and minerals—the new spa is set to be unveiled in March 2026.

Good to know: Atlantis also provides entertainment for children of all ages, with both a kids’ club and a teens’ club. The teens’ club spans 14,000 square feet and is designed for guests ages 9 to 17. Additional amenities include a movie theater offering daily screenings, a game room with arcade-style attractions, and even a full-scale escape room.

Wellness & Fitness

The spacious, newly renovated fitness center features state-of-the-art cardiovascular and strength-training equipment, free weights, dedicated studios for spinning and yoga classes, a lap pool, and a wellness area.

The resort also offers daily fitness classes ranging from spinning to yoga and Pilates, as well as three Har-Tru clay tennis courts—a rarity in the Caribbean—along with three additional tennis courts and two pickleball courts.

The resort’s golf course, designed by Tom Weiskopf, delivers all the elements of a perfect round. This 18-hole, par-72 course stretches more than 7,100 yards along the oceanfront.

A mini-golf course is also available for families daily from 3 p.m., for an additional fee.

Good to know: There is also daily entertainment, live music, a nightclub, games, and events.
