Danieli, a Four Seasons Hotel, Venice Reopens Following Landmark Restoration
The restored Venetian landmark welcomes guests with redesigned historic palazzos, a refreshed rooftop restaurant, and a new spa arriving later this year.

Danieli, Venezia, a Four Seasons Hotel has officially reopened its doors following an extensive restoration, marking a new chapter for one of Venice’s most iconic luxury hotels. Set along the Riva degli Schiavoni overlooking the Venetian Lagoon, the historic property welcomes guests with 120 renovated rooms and suites, with a full complement of 168 accommodations expected once the restoration of Palazzo Danieli Excelsior is completed next year.
The reopening brings together three historic buildings: the 15th-century Palazzo Dandolo, originally built in 1471 as the residence of the noble Dandolo family; Palazzo Casa Nuova, once home to the Treasury of the Venetian Republic; and the still-under-restoration Palazzo Danieli Excelsior. French interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon led the redesign of the restored spaces, preserving architectural details while introducing a lighter, contemporary aesthetic inspired by the colors of the Venetian Lagoon.
Throughout the hotel, original features—including hand-painted gilded ceilings, marble columns, and grand staircases—have been carefully restored by local artisans. Murano glass, Venetian mirrors, terrazzo floors, and custom Rubelli textiles reinforce the property’s connection to local craftsmanship, while a curated collection of artwork references Venice’s role as a cultural center during the era of the Grand Tour.
Guest accommodations have been reconfigured with larger layouts and an expanded selection of junior and one-bedroom suites overlooking the lagoon, canals or city rooftops. Modern touches, including integrated media walls, automated curtains, customizable lighting and climate controls, have been incorporated without detracting from the historic interiors.
The reopening also introduces a refreshed Terrazza Danieli, the hotel’s celebrated rooftop restaurant overlooking San Giorgio Maggiore. Executive Chef Adriano Rausa leads the culinary program with contemporary Italian cuisine rooted in Venetian traditions, highlighting seasonal ingredients sourced from longtime local producers. Many signature dishes are completed tableside, adding an interactive element to the dining experience, while the adjoining bar offers a menu centered on modern interpretations of classic Italian aperitivi.
The hotel’s evolution will continue later this year with the debut of the Danieli Spa, slated to open in late 2026. The wellness facility will feature three treatment rooms—including one designed for couples—as well as a sauna and hammam.
Danieli joins Four Seasons’ growing portfolio in Italy alongside its properties in Milan, Florence, and Taormina.
