Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is preparing to open its newest property, Fairmont New Orleans. Once open, it will become the brand’s 19th property in the U.S.

The hotel, which is accepting reservations for stays beginning on Nov. 2, occupies 17 stories of the former Bank of New Orleans building, a 31-story landmark originally designed in 1970 by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.

Fairmont New Orleans will feature 250 rooms and suites, several restaurant and bar concepts developed in partnership with star chef Emeril Lagasse and his team, more than 19,000 square feet of meeting and event space, and a 10,000-square-foot spa.

A highlight of the new hotel will be its rooftop, home to what Fairmont says is the highest rooftop pool in New Orleans, offering views of the Mississippi River and the city. The spa will offer three treatment rooms, a couples suite, a dry sauna, a steam room and a fitness studio.

The hotel will also feature Fairmont Gold, the brand’s hotel-within-a-hotel concept, with dedicated floors, exclusive lounge access, and enhanced in-room amenities.

Prolific Rockwell Group, which also recently led the redesign of W New York Union Square, designed the hotel’s interiors with a concept inspired by New Orleans’ contrasts. Throughout the property, the designers play with contrasts between old and new, polished and playful, and vibrant and restful.

The hotel’s lobby is designed to serve as a social hub. A central Lobby Bar will anchor the room, surrounded by bold colors, rich materials, and curated furnishings intended to encourage both visitors and New Orleans residents to linger.

Fairmont New Orleans will also cater to weddings, meetings and events ranging from intimate gatherings of 10 people to celebrations for as many as 500 guests. The property will offer two 4,000-square-foot ballrooms with dedicated foyer space, six meeting rooms and an executive boardroom.
