Four Seasons has announced plans for a resort on Morocco’s northern coast, adding Tangier to its country portfolio. Set in the city’s Cap Malabata district, the property will overlook the Strait of Gibraltar, with views of Spain across the water.
Royal Resort Cap Malabata, a luxury development company backed by GFH Bank, is developing Four Seasons Resort Tangier. Designed by Arjitec and with interiors by Goddard Littlefair, the resort will offer 99 guest accommodations, including 27 standalone villas. Its cliffside setting will encompass more than 850 feet of waterfront, providing a coastal base within reach of Tangier’s souks and cultural attractions.
“As our fourth property in Morocco, Four Seasons Resort Tangier expands our collection in one of the region’s most compelling destinations,” said Ricardo Suarez, the group head of development for Four Seasons. “We look forward to bringing this exceptional project to life and creating a Resort that reflects the character of Tangier while offering guests the opportunity to experience its unique coastal setting alongside the service excellence that defines Four Seasons.”
Plans call for four dining venues serving local and international flavors, expansive pool and waterfront lounging areas, a full-service spa and a fitness center. Families will have access to the brand’s Kids For All Seasons program, while indoor and outdoor event spaces will accommodate celebrations, meetings, and special events with waterfront views.
The resort’s transportation connections could make it a practical coastal addition for advisors planning Morocco itineraries: the property will be approximately 15 minutes from Tangier’s high-speed train station and 45 minutes from Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport.
The hotel will sit within the broader Royal Resort Cap Malabata development, a roughly 1.1-million-square-meter master plan designed to include four hotels and approximately 1,200 residential units. The wider project also calls for a sports club, convention center, spa and beach clubs.
“Tangier’s strategic location, rich cultural heritage, and exceptional waterfront setting make it an ideal destination for this landmark project,” said Abdulwahed Al Kooheji, CEO of Royal Resort Cap Malabata.
The planned resort will join Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca, Four Seasons Resort Marrakech and Four Seasons Hotel Rabat at Kasr Al Bahr. No opening date has been announced.
