Hyatt is set to introduce its first Andaz property in Hong Kong in 2027, anchoring the new Central Crossing development in the city’s business and cultural heart. Developed by Wing Tai Properties and CSI Properties, the project reinforces confidence in Hong Kong’s continued appeal as a hub for global travelers and high-end hospitality.

Located on Wellington Street in Central, Andaz Hong Kong Central will be part of a mixed-use complex that combines contemporary design with preserved heritage buildings, premium office space, and landscaped public areas. The 125-room hotel will offer a more personal scale than many of its neighbors, with suites that can double as small event venues and interiors designed to express Hong Kong’s blend of old and new, East and West.

The property’s social centerpiece, the Living Room, will serve as an all-day gathering place alongside a restaurant, wellness facilities, and a modern fitness center. Extending beyond the hotel, the development will also debut the first Andaz Village, a new retail concept focused on food, design, and wellbeing brands that reflect the neighborhood’s creative spirit.

David Udell, group president for Asia Pacific at Hyatt, said the opening continues the company’s legacy in Hong Kong, where it launched its first hotel outside the U.S. in 1969. “We are honored to be part of this landmark project with Wing Tai Properties and CSI Properties in the heart of Central,” he said.

The property will be led by Hervé Mazella, Hyatt’s area vice president of luxury for Asia Pacific, who will also serve as general manager. His background includes leadership roles at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, Park Hyatt Tokyo, and Andaz Bali. “My goal is to establish Andaz Hong Kong Central as the vibrant soul of Central Crossing,” Mazella said. “Rooted in its local surroundings and infused with the spirit of Hong Kong, the one-of-a-kind lifestyle hotel will reflect the city’s rich blend of business, art, culture and heritage.”

Andaz Hong Kong Central adds to a growing regional pipeline that includes upcoming openings in Shanghai, Bangkok, and Australia’s Gold Coast. Set within walking distance of Tai Kwun, PMQ, and Central Market, the hotel’s location places it among some of Hong Kong’s most dynamic cultural and dining destinations.
