ME London Review: A Smart Pick for Theatre-First London Weekends

Panoramic city views from a ME+ suite at ME London, overlooking the West End skyline from floor-to-ceiling windows and a curved private seating area.

On a recent layover in London, I wanted to see more than Heathrow Airport. One of the most fascinating cities in the world needs more than 24 hours to be explored, but when that is all the time you have, you must make tough decisions. Choosing ME London, however, wasn’t a difficult one.

ME London is part of the exclusive ME portfolio, the curated lifestyle brand by Meliá, with fewer than a dozen design-driven properties mainly in Europe. The concept is: amazing locations, a design inspired by the destination, and a bold personality.

The London location is all of that and much more.

Me London is located in the busy Covent Garden district.

Why Travel Advisors Book It

  • ME London is ideally located in the entertainment district, within walking distance of Big Ben.
  • It’s easily accessible from Heathrow Airport with a direct tube line.
  • Some rooms have balconies, a rare find in buzzing London.
  • Two- and three-bedroom suites are available for groups.

Rooms & Suites

The hotel has a charming boutique feel, with 157 rooms and 15 suites ranging across 14 different categories. The entry category, Always ME Room, is 570 square feet and features a king-size bed and a large bathroom with a Balinese shower and C.O. Bigelow toiletries. The Superior Room City View Terrace, which we experienced, is a comfortable, calming room with floor-to-ceiling windows and a private outdoor seating area. The views are unbeatable, facing the London skyline and the busy entertainment district.

Good to know: The hotel also offers two- and three-bedroom suites with panoramic city views. Each suite is equipped with its own private bathroom, one communal area, two lounges, and an expansive outdoor space. When booking a suite, guests have access to exclusive in-room amenities, preferred dinner reservations, and a dedicated concierge.

Every room is designed with white and soft tones for a calming effect, the latest technologies, including a smart TV and Chromecast radio, and plush accents.

Food & Drink

The hotel features three distinct dining experiences, including a very popular rooftop lounge with 360-degree views of the city. (Fun fact: The hotel is set on the very site of the BBC’s first-ever transmission in 1922, and the name of its rooftop lounge is a nod to the rich history of the building.)

Radio Rooftop serves Asian-inspired cuisine crafted with meticulous precision and passion. From sunrise to sunset, savour panoramic views spanning from the Shard and St Paul’s downstream to the London Eye and Big Ben. It is open year-round, but the outdoor terrace is only open seasonally.

A location of the popular franchise STK Steakhouse can be found inside ME London, and finally, Luciano, an Italian eatery by local chef Gino D’Acampo, which is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast is served there every morning for hotel guests in an à la carte setting, where guests can pick one hot item and one cold dish. A very complete and filling breakfast indeed.

Amenities & Wellness

ME London features a 24/7 lifestyle gym with Peloton and Technogym equipment. All rooms are also equipped with a yoga mat and yoga blocks to work out in the comfort of your own room.

The hotel also has a preferred partnership with AIRE Ancient Baths, widely considered the most luxurious thermal spa brand in the world. Exclusive access offers an elevated experience at AIRE’s London location. This must be booked in advance and is only available with premium room categories.

Location & Access

ME London is located in the vibrant Covent Garden district, a dynamic hub for shopping, dining, theatre, and entertainment, centered around its historic pedestrian piazza, market, and the Royal Opera House.

It is located a few minutes from Covent Garden Station on the Piccadilly Line of the London Underground, which goes directly to Heathrow Airport. It takes approximately one hour by train and one hour by car to get there from LHR. There is also on-site parking for guests who prefer to rent a car.
