The Strand Turks & Caicos has appointed Randall Wilkie as general manager, bringing a hospitality veteran with more than four decades of experience in the Caribbean and United Kingdom to the luxury resort on Cooper Jack Bay.
Wilkie most recently served as general manager of Sandy Lane in Barbados, another member of Leading Hotels of the World, where he oversaw operations at one of the Caribbean’s best-known luxury resorts. His career also includes senior roles at Blue Waters Resort & Spa in Antigua and Cobblers Cove in Barbados, as well as several Sandals properties across the region.
At Blue Waters, Wilkie served as managing director, responsible for the resort’s financial and operational performance and its development in the five-star market. He later returned to Barbados as managing director of Cobblers Cove, the family-owned boutique hotel and a member of Relais & Châteaux.
Wilkie has also worked as a hospitality consultant on hotel and resort projects in the Caribbean, France, and the United Kingdom, including Blue Monkey Hotel & Beach Club in Barbados, Hotel Le Tremplin in France, and St. Brelade’s Bay Hotel in Jersey. The Strand described his leadership approach as “people-centered, hands-on, and service-driven,” with an emphasis on team development alongside operational and commercial performance.
His arrival comes as The Strand continues to expand its guest offerings. Set along 2,200 feet of shoreline on Cooper Jack Bay, the resort combines private residences and resort accommodations in a relatively secluded setting while remaining within easy reach of Providenciales’ primary attractions.
The property is also placing an emphasis on sustainability initiatives. Most recently, The Strand became a Certified Pollinator Sanctuary through a partnership with Colorado’s Butterfly Pavilion, a nonprofit invertebrate zoo accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Several additions are planned for the coming year, including a full-service spa, kids’ club and a “Maestro in Residence” program.
