Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has made its debut in Thailand with the opening of Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit, a new 474-key hotel in one of the Thai capital’s busiest dining, shopping, and nightlife districts.

The hotel, which opened for stays today, Aug. 18, has 416 guest rooms and 58 suites and was developed in partnership with Asset World Corp. Thai architecture and interior design firm PIA drew on the country’s botanical heritage for the interiors, including a lobby chandelier inspired by the golden ratchaphruek, Thailand’s national flower, made with 4,166 glass pieces and more than 35,000 crystal balls.

“Thailand’s gracious hospitality, rich cultural heritage and deep-rooted appreciation for connection make it a natural home for Fairmont,” said Omer Acar, CEO of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. He added that the opening represents “a pivotal step in Fairmont’s strategic expansion across Asia,” following recent debuts in Hanoi and Tokyo.

Dining and nightlife will be a major part of the property, although the full lineup will roll out in stages through the end of the year. Among the seven planned venues are Harper’s, a French brasserie with North American influences; AELA Social Bar; and CAYA Pool Club, which takes inspiration from Bangkok’s night markets. Wiggle Room, a cabaret-style supper club with a private entrance on Sukhumvit Soi 18, is scheduled to open in mid-September. Two additional restaurants are expected on the hotel’s upper floors in December, including an Italian-Japanese concept and a contemporary Thai restaurant.

Wellness facilities include Fairmont Spa, with treatments inspired by jasmine, as well as Fairmont Studio for yoga, cardio and strength training and the brand’s Fairmont Fit programming. Guests booking Fairmont Gold receive access to a private reception and lounge, dedicated concierge service and food and beverage offerings throughout the day.

The property also has more than 21,500 square feet of event space spread across three floors, including two ballrooms, seven breakout rooms and Couture Hall. Families have access to a Kids Club, while the hotel welcomes pets weighing up to 30 kilograms.
