The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad has named Rick Corcoran as its new general manager, effective January 2026. The appointment brings a familiar luxury leader back into the Ritz-Carlton fold at one of the brand’s most closely watched New York properties.
Corcoran returns to the Ritz-Carlton after more than 30 years in senior hospitality roles across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East. His most recent position was general manager of Baccarat Hotel New York, where he led the property from July 2023 through December 2025. Prior to that, he served as General Manager of 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, following earlier leadership roles at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and tenures at the Ritz-Carlton.
Corcoran’s new role positions him at the helm of a hotel that has quickly established itself as a major player in Manhattan’s luxury landscape. Since opening in 2022, the Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad has earned a steady stream of industry recognition, including being named the top hotel in New York City by Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards for three consecutive years. The property has also appeared on Travel + Leisure’s 500 List and It List, Condé Nast Traveler’s Hot List, and Robb Report’s Best of the Best.
Located in the NoMad neighborhood, the hotel occupies the upper floors of a modern tower overlooking Madison Square Park, offering a quieter counterpoint to Midtown while remaining firmly connected to Manhattan’s core. The location gives direct access to key commercial, cultural, and residential districts, making it a frequent choice for long-stay guests and high-profile visitors who want proximity without the congestion of traditional hotel corridors.
Corcoran is well known within the Ritz-Carlton network, having previously served as general manager of the San Francisco property. During his tenure there, the hotel was named Hotel of the Year in the brand’s Luxury West Region. Earlier in his career, he held multiple senior roles at Fairmont properties, including serving as hotel manager at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver during the lead-up to the 2010 Olympic Games, as well as food and beverage leadership positions in San Francisco and Québec.
A native of Québec City, Corcoran holds a diploma in Culinary and Hospitality Management from the Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec.
