Rocco Forte Hotels has announced that it will open The Carlton, Milan, on Nov. 6, 2025, adding a second address in the city just as it prepares to host the 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics.
The hotel occupies a dual entrance site on Via della Spiga and Via Senato, placing it directly within the Quadrilatero della Moda. The location offers both cachet and convenience: proximity to Milan’s luxury retail, cultural landmarks, and La Scala, while also providing a central base during a period when visitor demand will outpace supply.
The Carlton introduces 71 rooms and suites designed by Olga Polizzi in collaboration with Paolo Moschino and Philip Vergeylen. Interiors follow Rocco Forte’s established pattern of blending residential style with local references rather than overt opulence, a choice that positions the property for longer stays and discreet event-driven business.

Food and beverage will be led by Fulvio Pierangelini, whose program includes a fine-dining restaurant, a lounge bar, and a courtyard garden. On the wellness side, the Irene Forte Spa brings a full-service offering—treatment rooms, wet areas, and salon facilities—intended to differentiate the hotel in a market where spa programming is often secondary.
Just a short walk from the hotel, Rocco Forte House Milan offers 11 serviced apartments inside a 19th-century palazzo. Each comes with a sitting room, kitchen, and one or two bedrooms, with the option to connect units for larger groups. Guests staying there also have access to The Carlton’s dining and spa, creating a seamless bridge between private residential living and full hotel services.
The opening lands at a moment of heightened visibility for the city. From February 6–22, 2026, Milan will co-host the Winter Olympics, followed by the Paralympics in March. While alpine events will play out in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Milan will anchor the Games with ceremonies, ice competitions, and an expanded cultural calendar.
For Rocco Forte Hotels, The Carlton marks its 16th property and underscores ongoing expansion in Italy, with future openings announced for Sardinia, Noto, and Naples.
