The Phoenician, a Luxury Collection Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona, has completed a multimillion-dollar renovation of its guestrooms, corridors, and Canyon Suites accommodations, bringing a new desert-inspired design to the 200-acre property at the base of Camelback Mountain.

Led by Parker Torres Design, the refresh draws on the Sonoran Desert’s landscape, wildlife and changing light. Warm earth tones and jewel-colored accents reflect the shifting hues of the Arizona sky, while custom carpets, layered textiles, and contemporary lighting give the accommodations a more modern look.

The renovation also extends to The Canyon Suites at The Phoenician, the Forbes Five-Star boutique hotel within the larger resort. Its accommodations received the same design updates, with an emphasis on an intimate, residential atmosphere. The project encompasses the Canyon Suites’ new villas, which launched in February.

The resort says the interiors honor the heritage of the Pima Indian Tribe and Camelback Mountain’s Indigenous history. Design references include the saguaro flower, cactus wren, and chuckwalla, bringing elements of the surrounding ecosystem into the guest spaces. Tribal-inspired carpet patterns and details combining contemporary art with traditional craft further connect the interiors to the region.

The updated accommodations feature “a curated color palette of warm earth tones and desert jewel accents inspired by the shifting hues of the local sky.” The approach carries through guestrooms and suites, creating a consistent aesthetic across the renovated accommodations.

Alongside the redesigned interiors, guests continue to have access to The Phoenician’s established recreation, wellness, and dining offerings. Those include its multilevel pool complex, The Phoenician Spa and an 18-hole championship golf course, all within the resort’s landscaped grounds. Dining options include J&G Steakhouse, Mowry & Cotton and Thirsty Camel, giving guests several choices without leaving the property.
