Abercrombie & Kent has broadened its South American footprint with the acquisition of Bolivia-based Crillon Tours, adding some of the continent’s most dramatic frontiers to the company’s luxury DMC network.

The deal encompasses Crillon’s longstanding operations on Lake Titicaca and the Uyuni Salt Flats, including its fleet of Airstream caravans, while preserving the Bolivian leadership team that has managed the company for more than six decades. Abercrombie & Kent plans to invest further in these assets, elevating them to its Sanctuary standards—the same collection that includes newly relaunched lodges in Botswana and Uganda, as well as the Pure Amazon riverboat in Peru.

Bolivia has often sat outside mainstream South American itineraries, despite its high-altitude landscapes and cultural depth. For Abercrombie & Kent, bringing Crillon under its umbrella not only plugs a geographic gap but also creates a new product for the growing market of clients seeking frontier destinations without compromising on comfort. Cristina Levis, CEO of A&K Travel Group, called Bolivia “one of South America’s most extraordinary frontiers, with landscapes and experiences that are truly irreplaceable.”

The addition also strengthens regional connectivity. Abercrombie & Kent already operates DMC offices in Peru, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador, and Colombia. Advisors building multi-country journeys will now find seamless integration across borders, particularly in the Andean circuit, where Peru and Bolivia can be paired through Lake Titicaca. Long-term, this could mean new product development in Bolivia, from elevated luxury camping concepts on the salt flats to conservation-linked initiatives through Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy.

For Crillon Tours, founded over 67 years ago, the partnership provides global distribution without compromising the identity it has built in Bolivia. “Joining AKTG allows us to showcase our extraordinary landscapes to discerning travelers worldwide, whilst maintaining the local expertise and cultural connections that make our experiences truly unique,” said Darius Morgan, vice president of Crillon Tours.

The acquisition continues a string of expansions by Abercrombie & Kent, following the launch of a Mexico DMC and the purchase of Borealis DMC in the Nordics. With more than 70 offices worldwide and the world’s largest luxury DMC network, A&K is positioning itself not only as a curator of high-touch experiences but also as a consolidator of in-destination expertise. For the South American luxury landscape, Bolivia’s inclusion could shift client perception of the country from niche to necessary.
