Journey Beyond Names Jennifer Vandekreeke Managing Director of Experiences & Attractions

Journey Beyond has appointed Jennifer Vandekreeke as managing director of Experiences & Attractions, putting the tourism industry veteran in charge of a portfolio of day experiences across some of Australia’s best-known destinations.

Vandekreeke brings more than 25 years of experience across the cruise, tourism and premium attractions sectors. She most recently served as CEO of URBNSURF, the Australian surf park operator, and previously held senior roles as executive general manager of NRMA Expeditions and vice president and general manager for Australia at Carnival Cruise Line.

In her new role, Vandekreeke will oversee Journey Beyond’s Experiences & Attractions division, which includes Cruise Whitsundays, Rottnest Express, Horizontal Falls Seaplane Adventures, Exmouth Dive & Whalesharks Ningaloo, Sailaway Port Douglas, Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre, Darwin Harbour Cruises, Melbourne Skydeck and Eureka 89, and Journey Beyond Cruise Sydney.

The portfolio gives travelers access to experiences ranging from cruising to Whitehaven Beach in the Whitsundays and exploring Western Australia’s Rottnest Island to whale shark encounters at Ningaloo Reef and Indigenous cultural experiences at Mossman Gorge in Queensland.

“Jennifer will lead our Experiences & Attractions division at an exciting time of growth, with responsibility for driving commercial performance, strengthening and elevating our guest experience even further, building the best employee experience and successfully integrating new businesses into our expanding portfolio,” Journey Beyond CEO Chris Tallent said.

Journey Beyond’s broader portfolio spans rail journeys, cruises, lodges and other tourism experiences across Australia. Its best-known products include The Ghan, Indian Pacific and Great Southern rail journeys, along with properties and experiences in destinations including the Great Barrier Reef, the Kimberley and Tasmania.

“From Whitehaven Beach to Horizontal Falls, no other tourism portfolio offers access to destinations as iconic and spectacular as this,” Vandekreeke said. “I’m excited to join Journey Beyond and work with such a talented team as we immerse our guests in the very best of Australia.”

Vandekreeke will be based in Sydney.
